Fourteenth Amendment the United States Constitution guarantees “citizenship to all people born or naturalized in the United States,” and “equal protection under the laws.” The Fourteenth Amendment was created in the Reconstruction era to establish civil and legal rights for African Americans. This amendment abolishes slavery and gives equal rights to all citizens. Occurring to Fourteenth Amendment, all citizens must be treated equally under the law regardless of race.
